Races Australia Weekend Racing Tips

Races Australia Tips

Saturday is going to be an exciting raceday with 4 Group 1 Races in Victoria including the 2014 Caulfield Guineas. Sydney too is going to host the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes and there are several Group 2 and Group 3 stakes races as well to keep punters busy throughout the day. This week we feature racing tips from three renowned racing experts from the betting industry.

Richard Andrews from BetEasy

Not going against this bloke after his last two wins. He would need to
the first to win from that barrier since Lonhro though but the way he’s
going no one would dispute his claims.
BEST – FIRST SEAL – RACE 6 Tab No. 8 [Sydney]
Couldn’t be more impressed with her last two wins, last start in
particular. No problems with her out to 2000 metres as her dam was a
Group I winner over 2000 and 2500 metres as a three-year-old.
VALUE – CHIQUADA – RACE 10 Tab No. 12 [Melbourne]
Good opposition here but thought her first-up effort was good. She
covered ground and faced the breeze on a windy day and still finished
off in 11.88 seconds. $41 is great value.
LAY – DISSIDENT – RACE 6 Tab No. 10 [Melbourne]
Can’t fault the stallion this preparation, however he is untried at trip
against superior opposition like this, some of which are crying out for
the extra furlong.
BACKED – LUMOSTY – RACE 8 Tab No. 6 [Melbourne]
There’s nothing like an owner paying a late fee to get punters excited
in feature races. Opened around $5.50 but with constant support now
into $4.40 and will start the favourite.

Isaac Ling from Ladbrokes.com.au

His Prelude win was breathtaking and if he brings the same four legs
on Saturday they’ll struggle to get near him. The trip is a minor query
but the way he’s going suggests he’ll be powering through the line.
BEST – FAWKNER – RACE 6 Tab No. 3 [Melbourne]
The narrow second to Dissident first-up put the writing on the wall for
what should be a big spring. Will be a fitter horse this time and he’s
drawn to get a gun run from barrier four.
VALUE – TAHNI DANCER – RACE 8 Tab No. 8 [Melbourne]
Came from eighth at the turn to run second in the Champagne Stakes
at Moonee Valley on a night they struggled to make ground. Well
drawn in barrier five and looks to be over the odds in an open race.
LAY – DISSIDENT – RACE 6 Tab No. 10 [Melbourne]
He’s a quality animal but even his trainer is unsure whether he can run
a strong 2000 metres. Am more than happy to oppose in a field that
features a number of proven 2000 metre horses.
BACKED – RICH ENUFF – RACE 9 Tab No. 3 [Melbourne]
Opened a short-priced favourite but that hasn’t stopped anyone. Has
been $2.50 into 2.30 since Wednesday and punters are jumping out of
the trees to back him.

Thomas Hackett from bookmaker.com.au

Impressive in his three starts this prep and he should stamp himself as
a genuine superstar on Saturday. His Prelude win said that the step-up
to 1600 metres will be no issue and he should get across from barrier.
BEST – SHAMAL WIND – RACE 10 No. 2 [Melbourne]
She has performed well without winning in two races this prep and she
meets a weaker field here. She ran some impressive closing sectionals
at her last start and should be able to settle closer to the lead in this.
VALUE – GUEST OF HONOUR – RACE 7 No. 1 [Melbourne]
Topweight but is a good horse and has been underrated by the
market. He is a consistent performer, has a great record over the mile
and loves firm going. Great each-way value at his current quote.
LAY – PROTECTIONIST – RACE 5 No. 1 [Melbourne]
There are a number of questions over the German stayer heading into
this. They say he doesn’t like firm ground, the Melbourne Cup is his
major goal and he doesn’t fare well at the weights.
BACKED – LUMOSTY – RACE 8 No. 6 [Melbourne]
She opened at odds of $5.50 but the talented filly has been the clear
market mover and is now into a quote of $4.20 to go from a maiden
winner at Sale to a Thousand Guineas winner.
