QTC Cup Results: Ball Of Muscle Wins Narrowly

Ball of Muscle wins at Doomben

The Joe Pride trained Ball of Muscle managed to capitalize on an early lead to emerge victorious in Saturday’s $175,000 Group 2 Magic Millions QTC Cup (1200m) at Doomben. Jockey Glyn Schofield guided the horse to an early lead and the gelding managed to keep it till the end. Yet, the Snowden stable’s That’s A Good Idea made a strong challenge in the end, trailing in the finish line by only a neck.

Schofield later commented positively about the horse. “He’s well named,” Schofield said post-victory. “He looks the part; he’s not the little brother any more,” he added.
“He sprang the lids cleanly and was effortless in the lead. I never felt in any danger.”
“It was a comfortable win. He seems to do things on autopilot. He was toying with himself down the straight, he wasn’t really concentrating, his ears were up.”

The winner’s stablemate Kuro finished third, while the Peter Moody trained Office Bearer finished fourth.
