McDonald Leading The Sydney Jockeys Premiership

James McDonald

James McDonald leads the Sydney Jockey Premiership

With only two more metropolitan meetings remaining till the end of the season, James McDonald is leading the Sydney Jockeys’ Premiership with 90-1/2 wins. However, the lead may not last very long as Hugh Bowman could take the lead in less than a week following the meetings at Canterbury on Saturday.

Currently Bowman is sitting in third position with 87-1/2 wins, while Blake Shinn is sitting at second position with 89-1/2 wins. Bowman has a strong chance of being in the lead as the jockey is set to ride eight runners in the meeting, while Shinn and McDonald have been booked to ride five. It means that Bowman has three extra opportunities to gain points in the premiership.

McDonald still remains the punters’ favourite at $2.20, while Shinn and Bowman have been put at $3 and $3.50 respectively.
