Duric Suspended for Nine Meetings; Out of Caulfield Guineas

Despite winning the Group 2 Blazer Stakes aboard Forever Loved, the day ended in disappointment as jockey Vlad Duric was suspended for careless riding by Racing Victoria Stewards. The jockey will miss Saturday’s Caulfield Guineas after pleading guilty to the charges.

The stewards investigated into the matter and determined that Duric had indeed allowed Forever Loved to shift in several horses, despite being not clear of Enquare, which caused its jockey Craig Newitt to stop riding and further causing interference to other horses Jessy Belle and Mezeray Miss.

Stewards decided to give the lesser punishment, considering Duric’s guilty plea, the offense’s mid range and his relatively clean record in the past.

The jockey’s suspension will begin on Sunday and will end on midnight, October 13.
