Jetset Lad wins the 2015 Brisbane Cup

The Brian Smith trained Jetset Lad emerged victorious by the slightest of margins in Saturday’s $300,000 Group 2 Evergreen Turf Brisbane Cup (2200m) at Doomben. The race for the top three spots went all the way till the finish line, where Jetset Lad finished the race only a short 1/2 head ahead of the Joe Pride trained Sense of Occasion, while the Michael Kent trained Epingle finished only a nose behind.

An exited Smith later remarked positively on his horse. “If you’re patient, you get one,” Smith said. “You just keep living the dream in this game,” he added.
“What a great, dogged horse; what a game horse.”

The Nigel Blackiston trained $5 favourite, Let’s Make A Deal could only manage a fourth place finish.
