Caulfield Guineas 2013 Barrier Draw

The Caulfield Guineas, group one 1600m race worth $1,000,000 has been drawn for the coming weekend to kick off Caulfields spring carnival celebrations.

This years Caulfield Guineas is one of the most even fields we’ve seen in years, Long John, the current favourite, is out to $4.40 with some bookies, while others report a steady stream of money for the Peter Snowden trained horse.

A total of 14 three-year-olds have accepted for the 2013 Caulfield Guineas, including Prince Harada who will be having his first run since paying the late entry to compete in the $1 million Golden Rose on September 14th.

El Roca, the New Zealander, is popular at $7 and drew barrier 2. Peter Moody’s Dissident has drifted from $9 to $10 after drawing barrier 13, the second from the outside.

Kerrin McEvoy, jockey of Long John, is unconcerned with today’s barrier draw.

He’s in great order, his work today was as good as it’s been.

“We’re the favourite but we’re not over the line by any means.”

, said McEvoy

The current market sees Prince Harada the second pick at $4.60 with El Roca marked at $7 and Eclair Big Bang at $9, don’t forget this spring carnival you can get “Double The Odds” with Ladbrokes.com.au and a $250 free bet:
